While serving as Unit Deployment Manager, he was instrumental in ensuring FM warfighters hit the ground running. He ensured continuity when he implemented new UDM reporting procedures and trained up new UDMs for compliance. SSgt Smith coordinated 2 aerovac flight which ensured OIF/OEF wounded warriors recieved timely critical care. In addition, as a Unit Deployment Manager for the Air Force's largest composite aircraft maintenance squadron he fulfilled 110 Higher Headquarter deployment taskings in support of Operation Enduring Freedom contributing to the 18th MXG receiving Pacific Air Command's Daedalian Award. In addition, Sergeant Smith spearheaded the addition of Unit Compliance Inspection items into the Medical Facility Assessment and Compliance System, providing enhanced inspection organization and visibility. His efforts exceeded the Combatant Commander's stringent mobility requirements. Finally, Sergeant Taylor prepared and shipped three Fire Fighter UTC packages to protect over 10 Million pounds in aid during the Haiti earthquake crisis.
