Unit Deployment Manager Awards

While serving as Unit Deployment Manager, he was instrumental in ensuring FM warfighters hit the ground running. He ensured continuity when he implemented new UDM reporting procedures and trained up new UDMs for compliance. SSgt Smith coordinated 2 aerovac flight which ensured OIF/OEF wounded warriors recieved timely critical care. In addition, as a Unit Deployment Manager for the Air Force's largest composite aircraft maintenance squadron he fulfilled 110 Higher Headquarter deployment taskings in support of Operation Enduring Freedom contributing to the 18th MXG receiving Pacific Air Command's Daedalian Award. The distinctive accomplishment of Sergeant Smith reflects great credit on himself and the United States Air Force.




During this period, the professional skill, leadership, and ceaseless efforts of Sergeant Smith contributed to the effectiveness and success of the unit deployment mission, successfuly deploying twenty five individuals with no discrepancies. He also represented the 14 Training Wing Unit Deployment Managers in several AFSO-21 working groups, streamlining Goodfellow AFB's deployment processes. In addition, Sergeant Smith spearheaded the addition of Unit Compliance Inspection items into the Medical Facility Assessment and Compliance System, providing enhanced inspection organization and visibility. The distinctive accomplishment of Sergeant Smith reflects great credit on himself and the United States Air Force.




In this critical capacity, Sergeant Taylor's outstanding leadership and devotion to duty were direct contributions to the effectiveness of Air Force missions. Adding to his vast contributions, Sergeant Taylor stepped up to become the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron's Unit Deployment Manager where he flawlessly deployed 75 Airmen to 12 separate locations in the Area of Responsibility in just seven short months on the job. His efforts exceeded the Combatant Commander's stringent mobility requirements. Finally, Sergeant Taylor prepared and shipped three Fire Fighter UTC packages to protect over 10 Million pounds in aid during the Haiti earthquake crisis. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Taylor reflect great credit on himself, the 628th Air Base Wing, and the United States Air Force.




During this period the outstanding professional skills, leadership and ceaseless efforts of Sergeant Taylor resulted in the success of the unit mission. He displayed great dedication to unit's training program with the successful conversion of AF 623 paper records into the Air Force Training Business Area, well ahead of schedule. As unit deployment manager, Sergeant Turner supported Expeditionary forces at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey and Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, ensuring all deployed equipment was properly palletized and documented and support requirements were met or exceeded. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Taylor reflect great credit on himself, the 434th Air Refueling Wing, and the United States Air Force.
